Adriatic LNG reaches the milestone of the 500th LNG carrier

On February 21st the 500th LNG carrier arrived at the terminal. With a cargo of about 150,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) corresponding to nearly 90 million cubic meters of gas, the Al Marrouna left Ras Laffan Port in Qatar and arrived to the offshore terminal after 12 days of navigation.

The event was celebrated on the terminal with a brief ceremony that involved the vessel’s personnel and Adriatic LNG’s staff. The ceremony was attended by the Operations Manager, Fabian Erle and the Commercial Manager, Corrado Papa, who delivered a recognition to Akesh Hiralal, the Captain of Al Marrouna.

On this occasion Adriatic LNG also honored with a plaque the Commander of Chioggia Harbour Master, Luca Cardarello. Long and successful is the collaboration that binds the company and the Port Authority, a relationship that started before the entry into operation of the terminal and has been consolidated over time.

By receiving the 500th carrier, Adriatic LNG has reached another important milestone that proves once again the reliability and efficiency of our regasification terminal: an infrastructure of excellence, strategic both at national and European level, which bases its success on the promotion of a strong safety culture, combined with the use of environmentally friendly technologies and intense commitment to the local communities.
