Adriatic LNG relocates its Shore Base

Adriatic LNG: Nuova sede per la Base Operativa di terra

Porto Viro, February 6, 2017 – Adriatic LNG, the company that operates the regasification terminal off the Veneto coastline, is relocating its Shore Base within the Municipality of Porto Viro, from via Stradonazzi to via Cristoforo Colombo in Porto Viro.

The Shore Base relocation to the new offices of Via Cristoforo Colombo, primarily meets the need to enhance company's logistics. Covering an area of more than 50,000 m2, the structure is a modern aero-marine station able to aggregate all the activities concerning the transport of goods and people to and from the terminal by boat and helicopter. Indeed, the new Shore Base is also equipped with a new heliport, operating since June 2015.
The new Shore Base location will offer larger spaces not only for the offices but also for the warehouse, which will cover an area 5 times larger than the current one.
Finally, the new Shore Base, being closer to the coastline, will also allow to reduce the journey time to reach the terminal by sea, facilitating the transport of goods and people.

Equipped with a 24-hours operating heliport, the new Shore Base will allow people to reach the terminal by helicopter in just 8 minutes. Furthermore, the take-off and landing area is available to the local community in case of health emergencies or assistance interventions. Being a heliport certified by ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority) in the province of Rovigo, Adriatic LNG's structure represents an important resource for local communities.

Besides investments made during these years for the supply of goods and services necessary for Adriatic LNG operations, in the last months the company has also invested in the renovation of the Shore Base building and areas, together with the activities related to materials' move.

The choice of renovating an existing structure instead of building a new one, enhancing it through the development of services and the adaptation in compliance with legal requirements for occupational safety and health, is the result of the approach of Adriatic LNG, which promotes the territory where its people live and work.

The new Adriatic LNG Shore Base represents a step forward in terms of sustainability, following the path marked during these 7 years of presence on territory.

Operating since autumn 2009, the Adriatic LNG regasification terminal assures to Italy more than 10% of national gas consumptions. A strategic infrastructure for the Country for its contribution to the diversification of energy supply, Adriatic LNG at present has contributed to satisfy national natural gas consumptions by delivering to the national pipeline network more than 41 billion of cubic meters of gas (corresponding to more than half of domestic consumption in 2014) coming by ship from 5 Countries (Qatar, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea and Norway).
