Adriatic LNG will attend the 11th Offshore Mediterranean Conference

Adriatic LNG will actively participate in the 11th  edition of the Offshore Mediterranean Conference (OMC), one of the leading international summits for the oil and gas industry worldwide, at Ravenna from March 20 to March 22.  Adriatic LNG will be presenting a paper on the geotechnical and structural monitoring system currently in place at the facility to assess the integrity of both the regasification plant and the pipeline from the Terminal to the metering station at Cavarzere (near Venice). Adriatic LNG is also the sponsor of the Best Papers Awards closing luncheon of the Conference aimed at identifying the best papers and exhibition stands.

“We thought it was important to again be a supporter of OMC, an event that occurs every two years in Ravenna with representatives of institutions, operators and experts”, said Adriatic LNG’s Managing Director André-Marc Luyckx. “Taking into account the many different challenges and opportunities the energy industry must deal with, we believe it is of critical importance to discuss and share the best practices coming from operations, and innovations coming from the scientific and technical community. We hope events such this one will help stimulate the learning of new generations of technicians and engineers joining our industry”.

A paper from Adriatic LNG will be presented on March 21 during the technical sessions.

“At OMC we will provide an overview of the key aspects of the ongoing structural and geotechnical monitoring plans for the concrete GBS, modularized LNG storage tanks, topsides structures and equipment as well as the pipeline. We will also describe the methodology of our inspection programme – Carlo Mangia, Technical Manager at Adriatic LNG and one the authors of the paper, commented. “The management system implemented by Adriatic LNG ensures the integrity of the facilities throughout the design life. The data we have confirm the compliance of the structures to the project  design basis assumptions”.
